"Again she fled, but swift he came.
Tinuviel! Tinuviel!
He called her by her elvish name;
And there she halted listening.
One moment stood she, and a spell
His voice laid on her: Beren came,
And doom fell on Tinuviel
That in his arms lay glistening."
— J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
Please note that all Racial Tome entries are based on Ember's personal UPG and may not reflect yours. Forest Elves, in this incarnation, are exclusive to Three Souls.
Forest Elves are very in tune with nature, and they often make their homes among the trees of old growth forests. They use recycled wood and resources in order to make their shelters, and only use naturally sourced materials wherever possible. However, there are some things they have to trade for like metals and some food items they can’t get otherwise due to their forest dwellings.
Generally speaking, Forest Elves are kind-spirited and have the ability to connect with nature and land spirits wherever they go. If you’re interested in conjuring, or are especially interested in finding your own companions, your Forest Elf companion would be all too happy to teach you how to connect with the elements around you in order to summon your own nature-aligned familiars or spirits for temporary aid or companionship.
As a culture, they are fairly polyamorous, hesitant to commit to one person for the rest of their long lives, but they love deeply and true. Their entire community is like family to them, so they often bond deeply and swiftly with spirit family members. They take to the time to really get to know the small things about a person, include the things you say in passing that you may find unimportant, but feel touched that someone remembered. Due to attunement with nature they are very good with earth and weather-based magics, and enjoy getting the chance to source local ingredients for spell jars, protection wreaths, and warding bundles. They also tend to draw wild life into their orbit, communing with them as if they were fully sapient beings.
Overall, Forest Elves are good beginner companions, eager to teach and to learn, and are endlessly patient during fallow periods.
