You never think that it won’t last. Or else, why would you tie your fortunes up with someone you think you can trust? Well, I learned my lesson. Fudorian women run their households, managing finances and arranging education for their children. While male children can take on apprenticeships and have a chance of making a living independently of a wife, girls are expected to entice a suitable husband in order to be allowed to establish a new House. Without that, “proper” occupations are limited and they are not permitted to live alone. Second Chances had the good fortune of getting into a respectable finishing school, having a modest but successful debut, receiving an offer, and setting her sights on a prosperous future. Unfortunately, the young man was less than worthy of her efforts and she was jilted at the altar, leaving her disgraced and forced to return to her mother’s house.
Now she works as a junior clerk at a manufactory for casting supplies, where she spends her days sorting charms and grading them for use. It’s tedious, tiring, monotonous work, and it leaves her no opportunity to show off her hard-won polish. Her chances of matrimony are dwindling, but she still holds out hope of finding love and independence. She hopes that companionship can open doors hitherto closed and that, even if it doesn’t bring her romance, it might yet bring her satisfaction and happiness.
As a companion, she’s attentive, observant, helpful, and practical, with especial skills in economy, aesthetics, history, theology, composition, and science. Since finishing school, she’s learned metaphysical skills to read energy in objects, test for energetic blockages or leaks, and assess energy connectivity. She would be glad to put any and all of her skills to use in aid of her companion. In return, she hopes to find a place that she can enjoy company away from her mother’s strict rule and society’s disapproving stares.
